As a minor house in the Spider Queen's most favored city, your drive pushes you to find ways to increase your standing among the hierarchy of the other nobles. Nothing is out of bounds, provided you don't get caught.... This a game of intrigue, where you are a member of a house trying to find your way to the table (Council) of the city. Through manipulation, scheming, and outright backstabbing whoever you can, while not being backstabbed yourself, you want to achieve the highest goals imaginable. For the Spider Queen's glory, of course. Sam is easily one of the best GMs I have had in my time as a TTRPG player. He has great patience in working with players and teaching them the rules of the games that he runs. He is also one of the DMs in which I have experienced the best melding of visual aids and theater of the mind aspects of TTRPG. He uses an actual tabletop with wonderfully set-up towns and character minis to create the feel of sitting around an authentic table. But he also takes the time to give players agency in the theater of the mind aspects of the game allowing them to describe in detail what their character is doing at the moment. I would pick all of the tags for Sam. He uses a real table and minis, and lets you roll your own dice! This is how D&D is meant to be played! Sam is great for beginners or experienced players. He is patient with newcomers and he is also good at letting everyone speak up. He uses cameras, but players don't have to, it's an option. I am starting a biweekly LoTR 5e game with Sam also. He makes it fun. I feel like I am in Middle Earth. I highly recommend joining a game with DM Sam! Recently played a one shot at L9. It was fun and challenging, and the final BBEG battle was awesome!
